International Conference New Perspectives on Late Antiquity VII: To the corners of the world. Routes, travellers and migrants in Late Antiquity

Estimados/as colegas, 

 

La Asociación Barbaricvm del Departamento de Prehistoria, Historia Antigua y Arqueología de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, en colaboración con el Área de Estudios del Asia Oriental y el Instituto de Ciencias de las Religiones de la misma universidad, organiza el Congreso Internacional Nuevas Perspectivas sobre la Antigüedad tardía VII: Hasta los confines del mundo. Rutas, viajeros y migrantes en la Antigüedad tardía. El congreso tendrá lugar en Madrid, en la Facultad de Geografía e Historia de la UCM, entre los días 16 al 18 de noviembre de 2023 y contará con la participación de investigadores de relevancia internacional en este campo de estudio, procedentes de un amplio abanico de disciplinas. La jornada del 18 de noviembre se dedicará a la visita a un yacimiento arqueológico. 

 

Entre los ponentes invitados se encuentran Krisztina Hoppal, Johannes Hahn, Eivind Seland, Juan Antonio Álvarez-Pedrosa, Francisco Salvador Ventura, José Luis Cañizar Palacios, Isabel Velázquez y otros especialistas españoles y extranjeros.  

 

En el congreso habrá espacio para un número limitado de comunicaciones, de quince minutos cada una, que serán seleccionadas por el Comité Científico. El plazo para la inscripción y envío de propuestas de participación se encuentra abierto hasta el 1 de julio de 2023. Se aceptarán propuestas en español, inglés, portugués, francés e italiano. En la propuesta debe incluirse el título, resumen de unas 300 palabras y un CV abreviado, que deberá ser remitido a barbaricvm@outlook.es o rosasanz@ucm.es. Se permitirá la participación online. Los resultados científicos de este encuentro serán publicados en una editorial de relevancia internacional.  

 

Una vez aceptada la propuesta, la tasa de inscripción para participación con comunicación será de 50 €. 

 

La inscripción para comunicaciones será gratuita para los socios de la Asociación Barbaricvm.

Dear colleagues,

The Barbaricvm Association of the Department of Prehistory, Ancient History and Archaeology of the Complutense University of Madrid, in collaboration with the Department of East Asian Studies and the Institute of Religious Sciences of the same university, organizes the International Conference New Perspectives on Late Antiquity VII: To the corners of the world. Routes, travellers and migrants in Late Antiquity. The conference will take place in Madrid, at the Faculty of Geography and History of the Complutense University, from the 15th to the 18th November 2023 and will be attended by internationally renowned researchers in this field of study, coming from a wide range of disciplines. The last day of the conference (the 18th of November) will be devoted to a visit to an archaeological site.

Guest speakers include Krisztina Hoppal, Johannes Hahn, Eivind Seland, Juan Antonio Álvarez-Pedrosa, Francisco Salvador Ventura, José Luis Cañizar Palacios, Isabel Velázquez and other Spanish and international specialists.

There will be space at the conference for a limited number of short papers, of fifteen minutes each, which will be selected by the Scientific Committee. The deadline for registration and submission of proposals for participation is open until 1 July 2023. Proposals will be accepted in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian. The proposal should include the title, an abstract of about 300 words and an abbreviated CV, which must be sent to barbaricvm@outlook.es or rosasanz@ucm.es. Online participation will be possible. The scientific results of this meeting will be published by a prestigious international publishing house.

Once the proposal has been accepted, the registration fee for participation with a short paper will be 50 €.
